Matthew joined the Good Samaritans Home family in 2004 when his father was no longer able to work due to an untreated heart condition. His mother is a poor, manual laborer whose earning are not enough to feed the family. The parents were faced with the reality of sending Matthew and his younger sister Mary into child labor or to beg on the streets.
Rather than becoming another tragic statistic though, thanks to the generous support received through GSH Ministries, Matthew and Mary were spared. Their needs have been provided through loving caregivers at Good Samaritans Home. They have been shown the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and also been given a first-class education. Now, Matthew stands on the brink of manhood. He is in 10th grade this year, and like all young people, must decided whether or not to make the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which he has been freely offered, his own.
Please pray for Matthew. Pray that just as his physical needs have been abundantly met that also he would allow Jesus to meet his spiritual needs, and that as he enters the adult world he would be a light in the darkness and a testimony to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
