It is something that we often take for granted–a roof over our head, shelter from the pouring rain or brutal sun, and a safe place to take refuge from the violence of the streets.
But for the abandoned widows of Rajahmundry, shelter is not a given. Many live on the streets, squatting in hovels under the eaves of roofs, for which they are often charged “rent” by the building owners.
Funds for of a widows shelter have been donated and construction has begun! This simple shelter built alongside a small church in a slum area will provide these precious women and men a safe place to take refuge from the elements and dangers of the street.
Because they have no family or their family is unable to care for them, they have come under the care Good Samaritan’s Home and Jesus Prayer House Church.
At the beginning of Pastor Joseph’s call to ministry, he visited a widow in her very small hut and promised her that he would provide for her. That promise continues now years later as monthly distribution of basic needs occur and each widow knows they will be provided for, “until their last breath.”
Please join us in praising God as the construction continues and we celebrate God’s provision for these precious ones!
